Abstract
|
|
|
Chronic myelogenous leukemia is a very rare disease in the pediatric age group and
its incidence is 3%¡5% of total number of pediatric leukemia patients. Different from
adults, children show thrombocytopenia and hemorragic tendency early in the course of
the disease. Ph-chromosome is negative in the majority of pediatric cases, especially in
the infancy group, and occasionally aneuploid stem-line with a model number of 47 can
be seen. It is said that early in the course of the disease, 6-MP shows better response
than Busulfan. The prognosis is said to be worse than adult cases and the mean
survival rate is also lower
Described here a case of chronic myelogenous leukemia in early childhood(female, 3
year old) with same literatures reviews.
